Dr. Ronald Rizzo

Director, Ferris State University Charter Schools Office

Dr. Ron Rizzo has served in the FSU Charter Schools Office since 2002 when he began as the Associate Director. He was named the Director in 2014.

Ron’s passion is leadership identification and development. In 2013 he founded the FSU School Leadership Institute designed to deliver leadership professional development to seated and aspiring school leaders. Ron also serves as an adjunct professor for William Howard Taft University where he has designed online leadership courses, teaches, and chairs committees for candidates for the Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management degree.

Prior to joining Ferris State University, Dr. Rizzo served as a middle school principal for 10 years, and a high school band director for ten years prior to that. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Western Michigan University, and a Ph.D. from Capella University.
