Leah Breen is the Associate Vice President for Charter Schools at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). With a wealth of experience in K-12 education policy, charter school oversight, and educator development, Leah has spent more than 20 years improving educational outcomes and fostering equitable learning environments for all students.
At GVSU, Leah provides strategic leadership for a team that oversees one of the nation’s largest portfolios of charter schools. She strives to provide students and families with more high-quality public schools by connecting communities to innovative resources that support growth and accountability.
Before joining GVSU, Leah held numerous key positions within the Michigan Department of Education, and K-12 education, where she drove policy development and grant management to support achievement, innovation and lifelong learning. Leah holds both Michigan teacher and school administrator certification.
