Jolia Hill was named Director of the Charter Schools Office at Eastern Michigan University in 2022. In this role, she provides oversight for 9 public school academies that offer a variety of innovative approaches to educating approximately 2,800 students that reside in the Michigan counties of Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Genesee.
Prior to her tenure at EMU, Dr. Hill managed public school academies authorized by the Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency for 11 years. Her experience in K--12 and Higher Education spans more than 25 years. Dr. Hill’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Wayne State University, a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University.
Dr. Hill currently resides in Farmington Hills with her husband, a K-12 educator as well, and her three daughters.
